Name: Karin Hanazono
Age: 11-13 (8th Grade) (IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME WITH THE AGE KARIN IS, IT WOULD BE APPRICIATED (I am British so I'm not sure of the grade settings)
School: 8th Grade, Sakurakoka Middle School
Relatives: Mother; Deceased (left her a ring), Father; Deceased
Good Friends: Kazune Kujyou, Himeka Kujyou, Mi Yong Yi 'Miyon'
Karin, hence the title, is the 'main' character of the serie; it's all from her point of view. She's not the smartest kid ever (she gets rather low grades) and is forgetful/clumsy etc., but is very kindhearted. She will think of others happiness before her own, and likes to live life to the full :D She becomes fast friends with Himeka from the happy go lucky attitude. She doesn't get along with Kazune at first, but she soon understands him better. Her cat, Shii-chan, who passed away, was the only thing she had until Kazune & Himeka came into her life ^_^ Karin isn't that smart and a lot of explaining is needed for her to understand, but she is still particularly cute

But, Karin is more than that. She is secretly a goddess! Her dead mothers ring harbours this power. She borrows her power from the goddess Athena (from greek mythology). When she first goes to Sakurakoka, she has a crush on Kirika, but gets rather lost with her feeling when she is warned by Kazune that he may be in cahoots with Kirio! She's ultimately shocked by this. When she transforms she has to want to protect someone; that's where the 'Divine' (aka. gods, kami) come in, to help protect someone. It can't be used for your own benefit. She has a staff in goddess mode, and her catchphrase is 'I AM GOD!'

& himeka

Name: Himeka Kujyou
Age: 11-13 (8th Grade)
Relationship: Karin becomes quick friends with Himeka. She accidently runs into her; Karin thinking its her clumsiness, where actually, its not, its Himeka's. Himeka is a rather clumsy person generally, but is so kind hearted and innocent that these points make up for those. She's the reason Karin is learning to fight; Himeka's life is in danger, and Karin wants to protect her new friend. The two often go off on hyper intervals with Kazune looking on with disgust xD Himeka loves Spring, or to put it correctly, BUGS.

Name: Kazune Kujyou
Age: 11-13 (8th Grade)
Relationship: Kazune is Himeka's cousin. Karin and Kazune don't get off to a very good start, because when Karin was mourning Shii-chan's grave, he came and 'insulted' her and she blew her top.. he first starts off as appearing rather sexist towards women, and Karin often gets mad/angry etc. and decides to kill him. But when finding out she's a goddess, things soon change round. They actually get along. He's rather clever; (perhaps inherited from his father) he gets rather high grades. Unlike Himeka, Kazune hates BUGS - to the extreame where he runs cowering into a random corner at the sight of one. Like Karin, he is also a god, Apollo. He is very powerful is god form but often collapses afterwards. It appears after a while he starts to have feelings for Karin.. but Karin being Karin, she doesn't notice.

& shii-chan

Name: Shii-chan/Nyake
Age: ??
Relationship: Shii-chan was Karin's cat that dies early on in the story, which provokes a lot of emotion from Karin; the fact she was alone and the cat was her last true friend. Her aunt was mean, her parents were dead, she got rubbish grades, she had no friends; all she had was Shii-chan. But amazingly, the cat returns! :D To be correct, this is the goddess Nike. The goddess was hiding in Karin's cats body, and protected her when she was alive. But after Shii-chan passed on, Nike (or Nya-ke, as she pronounces it)inhabited the body of the cat, so the cat now has a star on her forehead. Karin fights side by side with Shii-chan in battle (as does Athena and Nike in greek mythology), with the cat mirror to relect attacks.

& miyon


Name: Mi Yong Yi 'Miyon'
Age: 11-13 (8th Grade)
Relationship: Miyon is Himeka's best friend from elementary school. Karin meets her on the first day of her transferal. She and Miyon become rather good friends. Miyon is from Korea, hence her name. She relates to Karin to the fact that she doesn't have a father. She is rather headstrong and particularly smart, and helps Himeka out often. Miyon knows nothing about Karin's powers.

 

& kirika

Name: Kirika Karasuma
Age: ?? (9th Grade)
Relationship: Karin's crush, her 'prince charming'. He gives off the totally opposite first impression than Kazune's. He's rather helpful and helps Karin out a mutitude of times. Kirika doesn't appear to like or dislike Karin, apart from the constant saying of 'she's cute' to Kirio. Kirio? That's Mr. Glasses Man! He's really on the 'other side'. Karin doesn't know this, but Kazune guesses and warns Karin, but she doesn't.. won't.. believe what he says.
